I CAN'T TRY YOUR OILS. I HEAR THEY'RE NOT SAFE TO INGEST...
Coke and Pepsi are the largest consumers of ORANGE, LEMON, TANGERINE, MANDARIN, and GRAPEFRUIT essential oils. YES, the soda pop industry uses citrus oils to flavor their products. #SkipTheSodaUseTheOils 🥤🙌💧
*This post is dedicated to the guy who told me he would NEVER ingest essential oils... while he was unknowingly drinking soda with essential oils in it. MOST people consume essential oils EVERYDAY and don’t even realize it! #JustSayin 🤷♂️
Check this out, CLICK HERE and save it in your back pocket for naysayers: The FD@ records 160 essential oils, oleoresins and distillates considered safe for consumption, adding further evidence that various essential oils are harmless when taken orally.
So, why does it seem like EVERYONE in the aromatherapy industry is against this? The reason some Certified Aromatherapists can’t, and won’t recommend consuming oils is because they were taught a different schooling of essential oil usage. They would lose their license INSTANTLY for recommending ingesting oils... their certification is for specific use ONLY.

So there are 3 schools of thought on aromatherapy - French, German, and English. English focuses on HEAVILY diluting and is basically for the smell only, German focuses on diffusing, and French uses all three, including ingesting and neat application. The reason there is such "controversy" in the US over it is that most people here practice the English method only with low quality oils - Which you should absolutely NEVER ingest. In France oils are considered SAFE and are prescribed by licensed professionals in esoteric pill form.
The REAL issue is not that someone is in an MLM or that someone consumes or does not consume essential oils. The issue is education. This fear based mentality has spread wide and deep into the aromatherapy community, so much so that you would be considered foolish and even reckless if you recommend any consumption of essential oils whatsoever.
The debate, or rather battle rages on. To consume or not to consume, that is the question... or is it? One of the major areas that I use essential oils is through consumption: sublingual, via capsules, oil-infused water, and oil-infused food. I don't know about you, but consuming oils on a daily basis has been a major game-changer for me.
However, also know that I am NOT here to tell you whether you should ingest your Young Living essential oils. I’m not an expert. I am simply an avid essential oil user who feels confident and safe using my essential oils and embracing Young Living’s oiling philosophy. I personally feel 100% a-ok ingesting my Young Living essential oils.
However, I encourage you to do your own research and pick the option that best suites your needs and comfort level. There are many people who ingest their oils, but there are also many people who do not. If you decide it’s not for you, know that you can experience great benefit from aromatic and topical essential oil use! You can make it just fine in the oiling world without ingesting your oils. An essential oil distributor should NEVER twist your arm into ingesting oils. Ingesting essential oils is a personal choice and something you should feel comfortable with if you decide to do it.
